A: We are currently taking orders by phone and email. We will arange a pick up time and day with you. We also have eggs available at the Farmington winter farmers market.
Q: How are your chickens fed?
A: We raise all of our chickens on organic layer pellets, organic grains and organic kitchen scraps. When there is no snow on the ground they eat an all natural diet of bugs, grass, weeds, seeds and anything else they deem edible( including my garden, Ha!)
Q: Why aren't you certified organic?
A: We had an existing flock that range in age , from 2 years to 4 years old, when we started our Homestead in 2014. To be certified organic we would have had to cull those girls(our beloved hens) and start fresh with brand new chicks. We decided that our first flock and those to come would not get a death sentence, just to attach a label to our carton. We value them, we have raised them from chicks and we care for them. So we decided to just keep doing what we are doing, and raise them in a holistic, sustainable and organic way. This aligns with our values and we hope you understand. Q: Can I come and visit your farm?
A: Absolutely! Just give us a call or email and we can work out a day and time for a visit. (Winter is hard because of the snow, but we can try. Legal agreement must be signed for insurance reasons.)
